Baptism

Baptism

Christian baptism is an important act that should happen after salvation in obedience to the great commission (Matt 28:19-20). Although baptism is closely associated with salvation, it is not a requirement to be saved. The Biblical pattern is as follows: 1) a person repents of sin and believes in the Lord Jesus and 2) he or she is baptized (Acts 2:38,41, 16:14-15).

Baptism is an outward testimony of the inward change in a believer's life. It is an outward illustration of a believer's identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6).
